The Clippers lost 104 to 97 on Monday against the Warriors. The Warriors continue to be a spoiler for teams as their play has been inconsistent this year. The win came thanks to a quick start and big finish for the Warrior team. The Clippers loss takes the team to 19-11 this season while their away record falls to 8-7. The team still remains in first place in the division, but holds just a small lead over the Lakers.

The Clippers did get good production, but just not enough. Chris Paul led the team in points with 24 while Evans added 12 rebounds for the team. Paul also was the team leader in assist with 6 dishes. The team fell behind early after being outscored 29-23 in the first quarter. They made up the difference in the second quarter, however, scoring 33 points to just 27 from the Warriors. Down the stretch in the second half they faltered though, which ultimately led to the loss.

The Lakers lost 102-90 on Sunday in Arizona. This came courtesy of the Suns who continue to play spoiler from time to time this season. Just when you think the Suns have given up, they will play a game like this. The loss moves the Lakers record to 18-13 on the year and drops their away record to a pathetic 5-11. The Lakers continue to show that they are a totally different team on the road this season. This was highlighted in Sunday’s loss.

The Lakers as a team shot very poorly in the game besides Kobe Bryant who always seems to take things up a notch against the Suns. Bryant scored 32 in the contest to lead all scorers. Paul Gasol also led the team in both rebounds and assists with 12 rebounds and 6 assists. The Lakers as a team though only scored over 25 points in one of the game’s four quarters. The team fell behind early after the Suns outscored them 35-19 in the first. The team was able to make an attempt to get back into the game as they did outscore the Suns in the second half 50-39.

The Clippers lost a close game in Dallas Monday against the Mavericks. The Mavericks won the contest 96-92 thanks in large part to the late play of Dirk Nowitski. The win moves the Mavericks closer to taking the lead in the division as they have been playing solid basketball to get themselves back into contention. The reigning champs are now 18-11 on the year and improved their home record to 11-5. The game really showed that they can hang with, and beat, one of the leagues best and are still a team to watch out for.

The Clippers were led by Butler who scored 23 in the game. Chris Paul added 9 assists, which led all players. They started off the game slow as they fell behind 27-19 after the first. They came back in the third outscoring the Mavericks 29-19 though. The game then went into the fourth close, but they were outscored 22-16 to ultimately lose the game. The team remains in first place and are 2 games up on the Lakers despite the loss.

The Clippers won in style on Saturday against the Charlotte Bobcats. The team utilized most of their stars and sent the Bobcats to their 14^th straight loss on the season. With the win, the Clippers moved to 17-8 on the year while they improved their away record to 7-5. Other than scoring just 24 in the first, the team scored 25 plus in all other quarters. The trio of Blake Griffin, Chris Paul, and Deandre Jordan is proving to be as good of a trio in all the NBA.

The Clippers were led in scoring by Blake Griffin who scored 21. Chris Paul led Griffin to many of his points and led the team in assists with 14. Jordan added 12 rebounds to lead the team as well. The Clippers continue to keep space between themselves and the Lakers as they try to hold on and win the division. It has been quite sometime since they were even contenders and they are making strides to show everyone that they want not only the division but also a title.

The Bobcats continue to slide and be in the NBA’s basement. Their 3-24 record is the worst in the league and they are just 2-10 at home. The team has been the laughing stock of the league and 14 straight losses really highlight this. Kemba Walker has been one bright spot and led the team in points with 19. He also led the team in Assists with just 4. The team scored just 16 in the first quarter and 15 in the third. They did get 34 in the fourth, but most were garbage points.

The Clippers squeaked out a close one on Friday against the 76ers who continue to prove that they will be a team to watch out for. In the end it was the Clippers showing that they can beat the best in the league and will. The win moves the Clippers to 16-8 on the season while improving their away record to 6-5 this year.

Chris Paul who scored 24 in the contest led the Clippers. Griffin got his share of points as well and also led the team in rebounds with 11. The Clippers started off slow getting outscored 27-18 in the first quarter. They came back in the second to score 23 compared to just 16 76er points. Both teams then had poor second halves combining for 71 points between the two of them. It was the clippers, however, who outscored the 6ers 37-34. The Clippers win keeps them a few games above the Lakers as they try to continue to hang onto first. The Clippers are proving that they intend to keep that lead and win the division.

The 76ers were 13-4 at home going into the contest. In the end, the loss moved their overall record to 18-9. Their leading scorers both had just 12 points. Elton Brand led the team in rebounds with 10 while Jrue Holiday led in assists with 8. Philadelphia remains in first place in their division as they hold a few games over the Celtics. They must play better if they hope to hold on as Boston has been playing much better basketball.

The Clippers won a close one in Utah by defeating the Jazz 107-105 Wednesday. The Clippers are now 13-6 on the season and are in first above the Lakers in the division. The win was the first time that the Clippers have defeated the Jazz in Utah since 2003. The Clippers won with an impressive offensive game and had just enough defense in the contest.

Chris Paul led the Clippers with 34 points in the game. Since his arrival to LA, he has shown that he can contribute and learn the system quickly. Paul also had 11 assists on the night. Blake Griffin led the team in rebounds with 14 to help the team gain momentum in the division as well. The team, as a whole, scored over 30 in 2 of the game’s quarters. The win would have been even more impressive if it were not for a poor third quarter in which they scored just 16 points.

The Jazz were led by Al Jefferson who scored 27 points and had 12 rebounds. Earl Watson also contributed by leading the team with 8 assists. The Jazz did well on offense scoring nearly 30 in each quarter. They, like the Clippers, scored just 16 in the 3rd. The Jazz are now 12-8 on the season, while the loss drops them to 10-4 at home this season. They are now in 3rd place in the division and are 4.5 games back.

The Clippers continue to show that no matter what team they face, nor venue, they can show up and win most nights. They will have to continue to have success both home and away in order to take a division that has been owned by the Lakers in years past.
