The Lakers won a very close game in Canada on Sunday against the Toronto Raptors. The game came down to the final seconds and was won thanks to the fine play of Kobe Bryant. Kobe was strong throughout and hit the game winner with little time left on the clock. The victory brings the Lakers record to 16-12 on the season while improving their away record to 5-10. This has been the one place the Lakers has struggled the most, which was evident in this game as they nearly lost to a poor Raptor team.

Paul Gasol led the team in rebounds with 17 and assists with 6 to help the Lakers get the win as well. The Lakers screamed out of the gate and took and outscored the Raptors 34-19 in the first quarter. The Lakers have been desperately trying to catch the Clippers who have the division lead, but have been being haltered by their poor play away from home.
The Raptors were led by Jose Calderon who led all scorers in the game with 30. Ed Davis also led the team in rebounds with 8 while DeRozan added 7 assists to lead the team. After scoring just 19 in the first, the team outscored the Lakers 73-60. The early issues proved to be too much though and ultimately cost them the game. Their record now moves to just 9-20 on the year.
