Dwight Howard continues to show his skill set off to potential teams that may want his presence. Howard went of Friday night against the Lakers in Orlando to move his team to 11-4 on the season. Howard has made it clear that he may want out of Orlando, but at this time it seems like he may want to reevaluate that after a strong start by the team who is now 6-2 at home this season. The final was 92-80 and showed that Orlando could hang with the big boys.
Dwight led Orlando with 21 points in the game. He also added 23 rebounds on the night and dominated on defense adding some blocks as well. Howard continues to show that he is a resource many teams need and do not have. Teammate Jameer Nelson fed Dwight a lot on the night and racked up 9 assists in the process. Orlando started the game fast and never looked back after the first quarter where they outscored LA 22-10. The 12 points would literally end up being the difference in the game.
The Lakers continue to roller coaster their way through the season in a series of ups and downs and twist and turns. The latest loss brings their record to 10-7 this season and they have just one win away from home this season compared to 6 losses. Bryant is slowing down a bit after his week full of 40-point performances. He did score 30 points however and also led the team in assist with 8. Bynum led the Lakers in rebounds with 12.
Both teams will have the day off Saturday, which will be a much-needed resting period for a Laker team that has to figure out how to set the ship straight.
