The Lakers lost to the Pacers 98-96 on Sunday giving up many points to many players as the Pacers spread the ball all over the court. The Lakers continue to play inconsistently and it is hard to know what will happen night to night for the Laker squad. The game, played in LA, was just the 2nd game where the Lakers were defeated at home this season. The game was close throughout, but in the end smart basketball won it for the Pacers.
The Lakers are now 10-8 on the year. Going into the game they had just one loss at home compared to 9 victories. The team was led by Bryant who scored 33 on the night. His biggest shot though came at the end of the game in an attempt to get the Lakers a win. While doing so he collided with the Pacers Roy Hibbert who got in his path and drew a charging foul that would ultimately prove to be the difference. Paul Gasol also added 10 assists for the Lakers on the night.
The Pacers came back from a huge deficit after falling behind 27-14 after the first quarter. In the end though they passed the ball around and got a lot of players involved. Six players in all had double-digit point totals. Hibbert, who drew the game winning charge, led the team in points with 18. The win is the 11th for the team who now have a better record than the Lakers. The Pacers are also still to lose at home this season.
