
The Lakers lost 102-90 on Sunday in Arizona. This came courtesy of the Suns who continue to play spoiler from time to time this season. Just when you think the Suns have given up, they will play a game like this. The loss moves the Lakers record to 18-13 on the year and drops their away record to a pathetic 5-11. The Lakers continue to show that they are a totally different team on the road this season. This was highlighted in Sunday’s loss.
The Lakers as a team shot very poorly in the game besides Kobe Bryant who always seems to take things up a notch against the Suns. Bryant scored 32 in the contest to lead all scorers. Paul Gasol also led the team in both rebounds and assists with 12 rebounds and 6 assists. The Lakers as a team though only scored over 25 points in one of the game’s four quarters. The team fell behind early after the Suns outscored them 35-19 in the first. The team was able to make an attempt to get back into the game as they did outscore the Suns in the second half 50-39.
The Suns improve to 13-19 on the season while improving their home record to 6-8 this year. The team was led by Dudley who scored 25. Gortat also added 15 big rebounds to lead the team while Nash led in assists with 14. The Suns scored a whopping 63 points in the first half, which was critical towards winning the game
