They will look to move their home record above 500 to really get fans excited. In a season marked with off-field issues, the Dodger players have played good ball and have at least been competitive.

In all, the Dodgers 9 runs came off 12 hits. The biggest hit came from the Dodgers biggest bat Matt kemp. Kemp homered in the game for his 25^th homer of the season. He also provided 5 big RBIs in the game to power past the Diamondbacks. He has been a huge bright star within the organization and continues to surprise the baseball world. The kid has come out of nowhere fast and may be the biggest surprise of the season. Pitcher Ted Lilly was credited with the win, which moved his record to 48-57 this season.

The D-backs got some big hits as well including 3 homeruns in the game, but were without ducks on the pond for a bigger run total. Their 5 runs came off 6 hits. They scored a run in 5 of the 9 innings, but did not have the consistency to get a lot of runs across. Arizona’s Willie Bloomquist, Ryan Roberts, and Justin Upton all had homeruns in the game. Bloomquist hit just his 3^rd of the year, while Roberts got his 14^th, and Upton his 21^st. It was all in a losing record, which fell on Arizona pitcher Josh Collmenter. His record moved to an even 6-6 this season with the loss. The loss moves the D-Backs record to 57-49 this year.

he two teams are set to meet again July 30^th and 31^st in LA. The match-ups in this series look pretty even and should make for good baseball. The pitching match-up on the 30^th is tentatively Dodgers pitcher Billingsley against the Diamondbacks Owings. Billingsley is 9-8 this year with a 3.92 ERA. Arizona’s Owings has not plays much this year, but has been impressive in the play he has had. In all he is 4-0 with a very low 2.36 ERA. The game is schedules for 10:10 PM ET. The series ender is on the 31^st at 4:10 PM ET and will showcase Dodgers pitcher De La Rosa against Arizona’s Saunders. De La Rosa is an even 4-4 this season with a 3.49 ERA. Saunders is 7-8 with a 3.63 ERA. The D-Backs continue to try to keep pace in their division while the Dodgers will look to play spoiler at home. The Dodgers will continue to compete and try to salvage a difficult season.
