The LA Clippers defeated the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday utilizing the new tandem of Blake Griffin and Chris Paul. The two have been able to form a good alliance quickly in Las Angeles and are trying to make their team the new fad to follow in Hollywood in the process. The game was a home game for the Clippers played at the STAPLES Center in front of plenty of Hollywood starlets. The win brings LA’s record to 10-6 on the year.
The Clippers were led by the high-flying Blake Griffin who scored 20 points in the contest. Griffin also nearly missed a triple-double as he had 9 rebounds and 8 assist in the contest. Many of these points were made possible by the fantastic passing of Chris Paul who is building quite a rapport with Griffin. The home win for the team was there 9th of the season while they have only lost 2 contests in LA. They now must look to improve their away record, which is just 1-4 this season.
Memphis was led by M. Gasol who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and adding 11 rebounds. He also had 6 assists and 2 steals in the ball game. In the end, The Grizzlies have just played too poorly away from home where they are just 4-6. Overall, they have been very competitive on the year and would be at the tops of the leaderboard if they could improve their away record. Overall, they are now 10-8 following the loss to LA. They also got off too a poor start falling behind 29-17 after the first quarter. This ultimately cost them the contest.
